RALEIGH, N.C. (September 24, 2010) Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (www.hpg.com), the largest CPA firm headquartered and staffed in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, has been named as a 2010 Best Accounting Firm to Work For by Accounting Today. The firm is one of 100 companies nationwide to earn this distinction.
“It is a tremendous honor to be named a top accounting firm to work for,” says Tim Gupton, HPG partner and executive committee member. “We strive to provide our employees a workplace that promotes professional and personal growth, empowerment and teamwork. This award is a tribute to our team of talented individuals who have helped sustain the firm’s success for more than a quarter of a century.”
To be eligible for the recognition, companies must be U.S. accounting firms with at least 15 employees that have been in business for at least one year. Winners are selected based on a two-part survey process. The first part evaluates each nominated firm’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part is an employee survey to measure the employee’s experience. The combined scores determine the top companies and final rankings.
In addition to being named a Best Accounting Firm to Work For, HPG has been recognized with several other prestigious honors in 2010. In May, the firm received the 2010 Integrity in Business Award from the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce for its commitment to corporate responsibility, integrity and ethics. In August, HPG earned Green Plus certification from the Institute for Sustainable Development for the initiatives it has launched to integrate sustainability into its culture. The firm is the first accounting firm to earn this distinction.
HPG will be honored on November 17 during Accounting Today’s Growth & Profitability Summit and featured in the December 13 edition of the magazine. Additional information on the awards can be found at www.bestaccountingfirmstoworkfor.com.
