After acquiring a variety of experience while working with three local North Carolina firms, Kent became a founding partner of Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP in 1983. Kent is a member of the Firm’s executive committee, a partner in the Firm’s tax practice, and head of its partnership taxation services group.

Kent’s skills as a business and tax advisor to privately held companies and high-wealth individuals have allowed him to focus on helping businesses and individuals achieve financial success. Kent’s primary focus includes high-wealth individuals, owner-managed businesses and their executives, professional service firms and their executives, health care providers, real estate investment and their owners, and investment advisors. His experience has grown not only from working with a wide variety of successful clients, but also from experience gained from active involvement in the management of HPG over the past 34 years. The blend of actual experience in the management of a professional services firm with tax and business consulting skills, well positions Kent to deliver valuable services to the Firm’s clients.
