HPG and Employees Support Local Nonprofits in 2016

RALEIGH, N.C. (December 14, 2016) ― Staff members from Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (HPG), a Triangle-based CPA firm serving the financial management needs of local, multistate, and international businesses, as well as their owners, showed support for various charitable organizations throughout the 2016 year by raising money and spreading awareness for important causes in the community.

Each month, an HPG employee nominates a local nonprofit organization that benefits the community. Oftentimes, this is an organization with which the employee has a direct connection. All employees are notified of the organization and its mission, and are encouraged to support the cause. During 2016, HPG was honored to show our support of Wake County Boys & Girls Clubs, Book Harvest, Carolina for the Kids, Second Chance Pet Adoptions, Relay for Life – American Cancer Society, Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC, The Carying Place, Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, A Helping Hand, American Diabetes Association, Capital City Clauses, and SPCA of Wake County. So far this year, over 75 HPG employees participated, raising over $5,000.

“It’s incredible to see our employees come together each month to show their support for various charitable organizations,” said Linda Yoquelet, HPG Director of Human Resources. “To know that our Firm is helping to make a difference in the community is truly rewarding.”

Each organization receives the proceeds of pooled employee contributions. We also celebrate our Firm’s charity support by allowing employees to dress casually on the last Friday of the month. We have continued this tradition every month for the last five years, contributing over $25,000 to 12 organizations. We are very grateful for our caring employees, and the opportunity to benefit the local community.
