HPG Honors Staff with Above and Beyond Awards
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 18, 2013) ─ Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP,a Triangle-based CPA firm serving the financial management needs of local, multi-state and international businesses, as well as their owners, recognizes Colleen Causby, Matt Schanz and Debbi Trout with a 2013 Above and Beyond Award.
The award distinguishes HPG staff members who have excelled on specific projects within the knowledge-based industries (KBI) practice group.
- Colleen Causby – Client service integration Requiring knowledge and support of both the clean-tech and KBI practice groups, HPG acquired a commercial solar systems client. Causby has been instrumental in working with the client and building a hybrid team to provide business counsel based on the client’s unique needs.
- Matt Schanz – HPG business development initiative New to the KBI team, Schanz has excelled in connecting with past clients and bringing them back to HPG. In his first six months with HPG, he also has developed new relationships in the venture community.
- Debbi Trout – Client initial public offering Demonstrating a depth of commitment and skill in providing timely turnaround of multiple versions of IPO provisions, Trout worked with a longstanding technology client ready to make an initial public offering of stock. She has earned rave reviews from the client for excelling under pressure and providing thoughtful representation through the IPO process.

The KBI team works with companies in information technology and life sciences. Serving intellectual property-based companies, the group provides a host of advisory and accounting services.
