HPG Partner Presents to Triangle Executives on Employment Issues

RALEIGH, N.C. (December 5, 2014) ―Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP announced today that J. Mark Livingston, co-leader of the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice, served as a facilitator for the Triangle Benefits Forum’s Human Resources Panel. The event, which was hosted by HPG, was held on November 11th. Livingston also spoke at Smith Anderson’s 22nd Annual Employment Law Update on October 28th and November 10th.  These seminars provided updates on workplace trends and developments, with the goal of guiding employers through the challenges of the modern-day work environment.

Livingston, together with partners from the law firm Smith Anderson, spoke on “Correcting Problems with Your Retirement Plan.”  The presentation included a review of the IRS and DOL problems that occur most frequently and the voluntary correction programs that are available to set those problems right.  Livingston explained the role that the plan audit and auditor play in this process.

Hosting and participating in these and other continuing education seminars is part of a program to provide HPG clients with information that is valuable to operating their businesses. This includes support for the RTP CFO Forum and sponsorship of business events throughout the Triangle.

Livingston, with over 30 years of CPA experience, works with a variety of companies, in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, with particular emphasis on manufacturing and distribution companies which develop and distribute pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
