HPG Sponsors ScoutReach Golf Classic

RALEIGH, NC (April 22, 2008) – Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (HPG), the largest locally owned and managed certified public accounting firm in the Triangle, today announced it’s sponsorship of the 2008 ScoutReach Golf Classic held this week at the Prestonwood Country Club.

“This tournament over the last 14 years has raised over $550,000 to support Scouting activities. As an Eagle Scout I really appreciate all the lifetime benefits of scouting in general, and the specific accomplishments of ScoutReach and all the support it gives to Scouts from low-income rural and urban communities,” said Brooks Malone, HPG Partner and head of its Knowledge-Based Industries practice group. Kent Pittman, HPG partner and Executive Committee member, fellow Eagle Scout, and former member of the Occoneechee Council Executive Board which serves central North Carolina added, “Brooks, I and HPG are honored to continue our support of the Boy Scouts and the ScoutReach program. This outstanding program provides high quality programs based on the Scout Oath and Law, which helps to instill in youth the ability to make ethical decisions throughout their lifetime.”
