HPG Supports 14 Area Startups

Raleigh, NC (May 2, 2011) – Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP ( one of the largest CPA firms headquartered and staffed in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, announces today that partner Brooks Malone served as a guest speaker during the 2011 Bull City Startup Stampede. The 60-day initiative is aimed at supporting 14 dynamic startup companies in downtown Durham.

As part of the accounting panel which was held on April 26, Malone discussed accounting best practices. Panel members provided each team individual counsel to help turn their ideas into functioning businesses.

“The Triangle area continues to have a flourishing entrepreneurial spirt, and Durham has a wealth of resources available to startups,” says Malone. “This was an excellent opportunity to help entrepreneurs grow as they move through the business cycle.”

Malone’s support of the Stampede builds on a long history of supporting Triangle entrepreneurs. Most recently, he has served as a judge for the Duke Start-Up Challenge and as a “Coach on Call” for the DUhatch Student Business Incubator Program.
