HPG Tax Manager Earns Estate Planning Certification

RALEIGH, N.C. (January 14, 2011)  Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (www.hpg.com), the largest CPA firm headquartered and staffed in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, announces today that Jane West Phillips, tax manager, has earned the professional designation of Certified Specialist in Estate PlanningTM from The National Institute for Excellence in Professional Education, LLC (www.niepe.com).

“With the estate planning field continually changing, it is important to stay educated on the current laws,” says Phillips. “The CSEP program will allow me to better help clients wade through the complex rules and regulations.”
Phillips has worked with HPG for 10 years, and is a 20-year veteran in the tax and estate planning industry. To earn the designation, Phillips was required to complete a curriculum of eight courses during an 18-month period and pass a rigorous exam at the completion of each. Core and elective courses ranged from basic ideas to advanced concepts.
